Join us for an inspiring evening featuring the Sedona Red Rock Jr/Sr High School Orchestra and our Student Art & Photography Exhibition with Awards. Complimentary light refreshments will be served. Please consider bringing a non-perishable food item for the Sedona Food Bank. Doors open at 5:30pm on Tuesday December 16th with complimentary admission, the Orchestra performance begins at 6:00pm.

We begin the evening with the Student Art & Photography Exhibition, now featuring a new competitive component supported by the Scorpion Booster Club. Students will compete for Best in Show in Art and Photography, along with first–third place awards in each category. Each Best in Show winner will hold the title for the season, and their names will be added to a perpetual plaque displayed in the Sedona Performing Arts Center beside the Best in Show trophies.

The Scorpion Booster Club extends heartfelt thanks to our distinguished judges for sharing their time and expertise with our students. The growth of our arts programs continues to encourage creative expression and a deeper appreciation for the arts throughout our school community.

Art Best in Show - Judge: Mark Schrader

Mark Schrader and his family have called Sedona home for over 15 years. He is the owner of ALT Books and Records in Tlaquepaque and ALT Gallery in West Sedona, and he has worked in the estate fine art industry for 20 years. A past president of the Sedona Gallery Association, Mark is also a founding member of the Board of Trustees for the Fine Art Museum of Sedona—his current passion project.

The Fine Art Museum of Sedona (FAMoS), located in Harkins Plaza in West Sedona, is open Thursday–Sunday from 1 pm to 5 pm. The museum is actively seeking a permanent site for a state-of-the-art facility. More information, including volunteer opportunities, can be found at fineartmuseumofsedona.org.

Photography Best in Show - Judge: David Jolkovski

David Jolkovski of the Sedona Red Rock News is a familiar presence on our campus, capturing our students as they create, compete, contribute, and shine. Many of the images featured in the Red Rock News are his work. David holds a BFA in photojournalism from the Corcoran College of Art + Design and has photographed for community newspapers in New Jersey and Phoenix. He has also freelanced for many publications including The New York Times and The Washington Post. Before joining the Sedona Red Rock News, he worked as a staff photographer for a nongovernmental organization serving the Caribbean and Central America.

Orchestra Performance

Concluding the evening, the Sedona Red Rock Orchestra—under the direction of Mr. McKesson—will perform a selection of holiday pieces, bringing warmth and festive spirit to the night.
